I get so many questions about specific skincare issues ~ it seems everyone would prefer to use plant-based products. I like this trend!

I've written about using tea tree oil for acne, blending other essential oils for acne, and countless other ways to approach beauty naturally. One topic I've been experimenting with for a long time is hyperpigmentation.

Hyperpigmentation is a harmless but frustrating condition where certain areas are darker than others due to excess pigment.

Hyperpigmentation = excess pigment.

Sometimes hyperpigmentation occurs for what seems like no reason. Sometimes it occurs in the form of “age spots.” Sometimes hyperpigmentation forms as a result of other conditions, ie. acne scars.

Acne scars are what I'm most familiar with, and I created a serum that helps to lighten these scars and other types of hyperpigmentation. If you have this issue, be sure to check out the recipe over on Scratch Mommy!
