In Grounding: Coming Home to Your Self by Nell Arnaud, he said, “Even one to five minutes of grounding in the morning seemed to alter the course of the entire day.” So what is gounding meditation?

According to Earthing Canada, “Grounding is the physical connection between the electrical frequencies of the human body with Earth's.”

Grounding meditation is similar to the relationship of roots anchoring a tree. Strong roots help it stay firmly entrenched. It may sway as the wind passes through its flexible branches but it will not break.

How to Do A Grounding Meditation

Do not overthink or force meditation. Trying too hard can cause frustration. Try these two types of grounding meditation.

Single Object – Concentration – Walk barefoot on grass or take a stroll on the beach. Feel the grainy or slippery texture. Focus on the object. Connect with the energy of nature. If your mind wanders, refocus.

Mindfulness – As you meditate, observe your thoughts. Allow them to pass through your mind. Being conscious of your thoughts and refraining from labeling them as “good” or “bad” helps you understand their connection to your feelings. This process helps you be more present and accepting of your current state.

Grounding meditation takes practice. Be patient. Regardless of your circumstances, just breathe and redirect your focus to your connection with the earth.
