  1. Wash and condition regularly

Washing hair is the first step in taking care of it. It helps keep the hair clear of dirt and any other contaminants. Cleaning hair, however, should not be overdone, as this can make the hair dry out resulting in breakage. It is advisable to clean your hair 3-4 times every week which will keep it clean and healthy. In addition to cleaning, you should also treat your hair to some conditioner every now and then, since this helps the hair to stay smooth and shiny. You should ensure that you use the right product for your hair, depending on your hair type, since shampoos are for different types of hair, be it for dry hair or for preventing dandruff.

  1. Protect hair from chemicals

A large majority of people enjoy having a swim every now and then. The big problem is that these swimming pools are full of chlorine, which is very damaging to hair. The chlorine is very necessary to keep the pools clean; therefore you should take steps to protect your hair when you go for a swim. There are numerous ways to keep your hair safe; you can wear a swim cap, you can rinse your hair with clean water before getting into the pool to reduce chances of chlorine absorption and cleaning the hair thoroughly immediately you leave the pool to remove the chlorine.

  1. Use the correct products

In this day and age, there are very many hair products from different brands, each intended to serve a specific purpose to a users hair. They are also for different types of hair, for the different types of hair on our heads. 1. Keep your hair dry

Some of us see ruffling our hair with a towel after taking a shower as enough to keep our hair dry, but this can result in damage to the hair. Instead of this, you should press the towel gently on the hair, allowing it to absorb the wetness in the hair. Additionally, you can incorporate a blow dryer, although you should not let it linger on one part of the head for too long, as this can cause excessive dryness which can damage the hair. The correct way to use a dryer is to use low to medium heat, and moving the dryer from the roots to the tips; in the direction of hair growth.

  1. Visit a hairdresser or barber regularly

If you feel that you are unable to sufficiently take care of your hair by yourself, you should consider visiting the professionals; a barber or a hairdresser, who will help you decide what style to keep your hair in, or which products to use. They will also help you manage your hair in a way that suits your head and accentuates your face.
