Green Your Laundry Routine

If you're looking for a greener way to do laundry, you've probably already considered making your own all natural laundry soap. That's a great choice - I love making my own household cleaners. If you don't have time, however, or if those kinds of projects just aren't really your thing, there is another way to go, too. Soap nuts are an all-natural, super-easy solution to doing your laundry.

What are Soap Nuts??

Soap Nuts are a berry that grows in the Himalayas that naturally produces a soap. The soap is called saponin, a natural cleaner that works as a surfactant, breaking the surface tension of the water to penetrate the fibers of your clothing, lifting stains from the fabric and leaving dirt suspended in the water that is rinsed away.

They are super easy to use, and my favorite part is that they are okay for use with cloth diapers! Doesn't get much better than that!
