Don't you you just love discovering fun new ways to use a household staple? Olive oil doesn't disappoint. In fact, here are fifteen ways to sue olive oil in your routine for all-natural, super-frugal beautification!
1. Remove your makeup.
Rub a couple of drops on skin then gently wipe off with a tissue to remove makeup while softening skin.
2. Shave your legs.
A few drops on your legs replaces shaving cream and avoids irritation and razor bumps.
3. Under eye moisturizer.
Carefully avoiding the eye, dab a little to nourish around the eyes and reduce fine lines.
4. Reduce puffiness around eyes.
Refrigerate and apply as needed.
5. Help prevent hangnails.
Rub around the nail to keep cuticles soft and plump.
6. Use as a night treatment
Apply before bed to give skin a healthy glow when you wake up.
7. Exfoliate.
Mix olive oil with sugar and rub on face, hands, and body to remove dead, dry skin.
8. Nourishing face mask.
Mix 1 teaspoon olive oil, 1 egg yolk, 1 tablespoon honey and few drops of lemon juice. Apply mixture to face and rub in a circular motion for 5-10 minutes before rinsing off. The olive oil moisturizes and nourishes, the egg firms skin and the honey helps fight acne.
9. Acne face mask.
Mix olive oil and salt into a paste, rub on face, let sit 5 minutes then rinse off.
10. Dab it on cheeks.
Use a little to enhance the natural look and color of cheeks without makeup.
11. DIY Lip Scrub.
Mix equal parts olive oil and brown sugar, gently rub on lips and rinse off for softer lips.
12. Hot oil hair treatment.
For shiny, healthy hair, use warm olive oil. Apply to hair and scalp and leave on for 10 minutes before washing.
13. Deep hair conditioning.
Using warm-hot olive oil, apply to hair and scalp, cover with a shower cap and leave on for 1 hour before shampooing.
14. Reduce frizz.
To reduce frizz and flyaways, rub a tiny bit in hands and apply to hair.
15. Prevent stretch marks.
Generously apply every morning to regenerate and moisturize skin, especially during pregnancy, to reduce stretch tears and marks.
